Personal Family Portraits
The gift of a portrait is an extremely personal one. There is something so special about a portrait because it captures a moment in time through the lens of artist and client collaboration. Through extensive discussion and preparation, a family heirloom is created so it has to capture something unique and exceptional.
I want you to be completely happy with the artwork and I offer a guarantee that should you not be completely satisfied, you don’t have to purchase the painting. I am happy to say that I have always achieved a 100% satisfaction rate.
"Thank you Sally, how absolutely lovely to have the little video and the beautiful piano music to accompany it, with glimpses of your studio. We
are deligted with the painting and look forward to seeing it hanging in my son and daughter in law's home.

"Sally Layne did a beautiful job painting from a photo of my son whilst adding lovely touches. Today, I collected it from the picture framers and both myself and my son are delighted with it"
The Process & Price
Prices start at £150 for an A4 size watercolour or acrylic and £300 for an A3 oil portrait depending on the detail and number of people involved.
I use reference photos as well as sittings. It is really helpful to meet the person or people I am going to paint. This is because I want to capture their personality as well as a likeness.
I also take reference photos.
We will discuss your preferred medium; watercolour, oil or acrylic and I will explain to you the differences between them all.
I provide provisional sketches and send you images of the sketched final composition before I start painting. It is a journey of collaboration and I want to make sure you are happy at every stage.
I can recommend picture framers or help you source a suitable frame for the finished painting.
